As a creator, the golden play button is a bigger achievement sometime ago but these days it is easier to gain as more users appear on the platform. Once a creator reaches a million subscribers the gold play button is presented but is it really gold? No dear, it’s actually made of brass.

YouTube Diamond Play Button – 10M subscribers;

A little later after the silver and gold play buttons, the diamond button appeared in 2015.  Only a few channels have reached the milestone of a diamond Play button award, which is getting 10 million subscribers.

YouTube Custom Play Button – 50M subscribers.

The highest play button is the Ruby Button and PewDiePie was the first YouTuber to receive it after being the first person to reach  50 million subscribers. 

PewDiePie a Swedish YouTuber whose real name is Felix Chelberg. In 2019, the first account to hit 100 million subscribers was the T-Series YouTube channel. 

How to get the Youtube Play button?

If you’re a creator you might want to know that before presenting a reward, YouTube inspects the channel to meet certain criteria. And if as a creator you do not meet the following criteria you will not be able to claim the prize:

  • The account must not go against the YouTube Community Guidelines;
  • It must not have a copyright infringement warning;
  • The account must have a good reputation;
  • The account must be in accordance with YouTube’s Terms of Service;
  • You must have the copyright of your videos & they must be original.

In individual cases, even if all the rules are followed, YouTube may refuse to present a button but this is not common.

When your channel reaches the needed popularity, you will be notified in the YouTube Studio.
